M-Audio continue to justify their "fastest-growing industry company for the past two consecutive years" tag by shipping thier latest mini MIDI device the USB Uno. The USB Uno provides a simple, inexpensive solution for connecting MIDI devices to USB-based Mac and PC computers. The compact injection-molded unit features built-in extension cables that simplify connections for novices. One cable connects to a computer via high-speed USB, while the other routes MIDI In and Out to devices such as the Oxygen8 MIDI controller and a synthesizer module. USB Uno also features MIDI activity indicators for each port. The unit is self-powered, thereby eliminating the need for yet another wall wart power supply and making it ideal for mobile use with laptops. USB Uno results from M-Audio s years of experience developing and marketing the popular Midiman line of MIDI interfaces. USB Uno is compatible with any USB equipped Mac or PC. The device works with Mac OS 8.6 or greater, as well as Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP offering true Plug-and-Play functionality. USB Uno requires no computer disassembly and no IRQ, I/O address or DMA channel setup. The unit ships with a full complement of low latency drivers, including versions for Mac OS X and Windows XP. Also included are several versions of Opcode s OMS to insure backward Mac OS compatibility. USB Uno carries an MSRP of £45.00/ +/- $70
