The Elektron SidStation is a unique and some would say legendary digital synth. Their scarcity is due to tfact that they use SID 6581 sound chips originally found in the Commodore C64 home computer much favoured by the early computer music fraternity. 100 factory new SID 6581 chips have been secured by Elektron, allowing for a brief return of the highly sought after SidStation synthesizer. At least for a short while the unique SID sound can find its way into the wider world. The new batch of SidStations will be built exactly like the previous ones. All original parts have been hunted down to assure the original sound. They are all manufactured in Sweden by the original company. Elektron are well known for there unique and desirable family of electronic instruments: SidStation, MachineDrum and MonoMachine (see our reviews). This last batch of SidStations are priced at EUR €920 inside the European Union and USD $950 for USA and outside EU.
The units will be sold only by Elektron to end customers directly from
