The Evolver series of keyboards and modules from the universally respected synth designer Dave Smith has won numerous editors choice and synthesists must-have accolades since the original mono Evolver Desktop was released. Now comprising of the Evolver Rack, Poly Evolver keyboard, Poly Evolver Rack – the latest to join the gang is the MEK (Mono Evolver Keyboard) has all the rugged good looks of the Poly Keyboard and as far as we understand – much of the voice architecture but in a single voice version. The Evolver synthesis engine is a hybrid analog/digital and is capable of some amazing sounds. The new Mono brings the added excitement of plenty of dedicated knobs and switches in the true tradition of great analog synths. Details are still a little thin on the ground, we’ll just have to wait until NAMM (Jan 19th-22nd), but don’t worry, we’ve already booked our appointment with Dave Smith and will be sure to gather all we can. Expected price $1199.
