Spectrasonics have announced support for its Stylus RMX groove-based virtual instrument plug-in on Apple Computer’s new Intel Macintosh platform. The new version of Stylus RMX supports all Mac OS X Universal Binary VST and Audio Unit hosts, including Logic Pro 7.2, Garageband 3, Ableton Live 5.2, and others.
Being one of the first third party plug-ins to support the new Universal Binary format, Spectrasonics has opened a new Public Beta forum for registered Stylus RMX users to try out the new version and give the company feedback as host software applications become available for the new Intel Mac platform. The new Public Beta forum is located at: Spectrasonics President, Eric Persing, explained the new public testing program to us, “Some of our customers like to be on the forefront of the very latest technology, so we wanted to give these early Intel Mac adopters a chance to use their Stylus RMX right away - even before many of the major hosts have been released on the native Intel Mac platform. The public beta forum gives them a chance to work with it right away on their new computers, and a chance for us to gain valuable feedback as we begin to make this major transition to Intel Mac Universal Binary plug-ins.
The company has also posted a new Intel Mac information webpage at: Price and Availability
The US suggested retail price for Stylus RMX is $299, while the European price is 249 Euros. Stylus RMX currently supports all major host applications compatible with Power PC-based Apple Macintosh AU, VST and RTAS, and Microsoft Windows VST and RTAS. More from:
