Cakewalk has announcesd Expansion Packs for Session Drummer 2, which will be available in Q4 2006.
Session Drummer 2, found exclusively in SONAR 6 Producer Edition, came about as a result of a lengthy collaboration between Cakewalk and Smart Loops. This relationship continues with the announcement that Cakewalk has commissioned Smart Loops to create content for a series of Session Drummer 2 Expansion Packs, which will be sold through Cakewalk.
Session Drummer 2 was designed from the ground up to provide SONAR users with the fastest and most fun way to create realistic and vital drum tracks. In looking for high-quality content to include in Session Drummer 2, Cakewalk turned to Smart Loops, an industry leader in rhythm content and a leading provider of professional drum loops.
Smart Loops recorded over 200 live MIDI drum grooves exclusively for Session Drummer 2, and provided four complete drum kit multisample sets. All drum grooves and multisamples were performed and recorded by pro session drummer and Smart Loops founder Frank Basile. The drum grooves were recorded on the Roland V-Drums, using the industry-standard V-Pro Series TD-20K drum kit to ensure maximum accuracy and tracking.
Cakewalk say that Session Drummer 2’s amazing sound quality is made possible through a combination of the included high-quality multisamples and MIDI patterns from Smart Loops, along with the unrivaled non-aliased rendering provided by the Expression Engine, found exclusively in the Cakewalk Instruments Line. The Expansion Packs will open up Session Drummer to even more grooves that are perfect for a wide range of music, including rock, pop, jazz, country, reggae, and blues.
