Following a successful unveiling at the AES show in San Francisco earlier this month, Digidesign has announced that the newest member of its 003 family, the 003 Rack+ Factory, is now shipping and available for purchase through authorised Digidesign dealers.
Here's the statement that the UK branch of Digidesign have sent us...
Like its siblings, the 003 Rack+ Factory comes with everything users need to compose, record, sequence, edit, mix, and master their music right out of the box. The 003 Rack+ Factory ships with Pro Tools LE software, as well as a huge collection of studio-quality sound processing, mastering and effects plug-ins, virtual instruments, compatible applications, and sound libraries. New are eight high-quality microphone preamps (four more than the 003 Rack system) which, when combined with a wide variety of other I/O options for connecting instruments, MIDI gear, and various analogue and digital devices, allow 003 Rack+ Factory users to easily record an entire band in a home/project studio, garage, or even live.
Initially, 003 Rack+ Factory comes bundled with Pro Tools LE 7.4 software; all purchasers will be eligible to receive a free upgrade to Pro Tools LE 8 software (£80 exc. VAT) when it becomes available later this year.
003 Rack+ Factory is available from authorised Digidesign dealers at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of £930 exc. VAT. Digidesign has also reduced the price of the 003 Rack Factory to £825 exc. VAT (reflecting a £110 price drop). In addition, Digidesign offers a unique hardware exchange program, allowing legacy Pro Tools LE and select competitive product owners to trade in their hardware for a discount toward the purchase of a new 003 system; the program will be extended to include the new 003 Rack+ Factory as well.
