The Korg, Marshall,Lâg and VOX brands have announced an online contest for U.S. bands/artists, titled Reprise Rivalry, powered by Sonicbids. Here's the press release with all the details...
Free to enter, Reprise Rivalry offers the chance for eight bands or artists to get hooked up with gear from some of the industry's most iconic brands while on the road to the grand prize. In a unique twist on more traditional band contests, Reprise Rivalry asks those participants who make it to the second round to "reprise" their song, re-imagining and re-recording it as they see fit. One finalist will go on to win a Grand Prize gear package worth over $5,000, plus promotion from all four brands and at least one year of Artist Endorsement.
Bands submit for free, courtesy of Korg, Marshall, Lâg and VOX, starting Wednesday, June 9, 2010. In July, entrants will be featured on the Reprise Rivalry contest site, where fans can vote for songs submitted to the contest profiles. The 50 top-voted artists will move to a panel review by judges from each of the four brands, who will then choose eight final artists to receive a gear package from the Korg, Marshall and VOX brands worth over $400.00 in retail value.
The eight finalists can put the gear packages to use – along with their imagination – in reprising their original song for downloading in the final round. Finalists may reprise the song as they wish – speed it up, slow it down, turn an electronic song acoustic or vice versa, make a danceable remix, change the beat or genre, etc. The band with the most "reprise" downloads will be crowned the Reprise Rivalry Grand Prize Winner.
The Grand Prize Package will include some of the latest and greatest products from Korg, Marshall, Lâg and VOX – a package worth over $5,000 in retail value. In addition, the winning song will be featured on the brands' websites and the winner will benefit from an Artist Endorsement from all four brands for the duration of at least one year. All participants must be 18 years of age or older and legal residents of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia in order to be eligible.
