When news first reached the office of Q Magazine's Achtung Baby covers project, we were obviously quite excited. With artists such as The Killers, Nine Inch Nails, and Garbage all contributing to the covers album, it kind of sounded like it was going to be a big deal.
Well it is a big deal, and you can hear Jack White's version of 'Love is Blindness' right here, right now (scroll downwards and all shall be revealed).
The Dead Weather genius has very successfully put his own spin on things, with a hair-raising bluesy vocal, and some very adventurous and ballsy production.
It's a winner for fans of U2 and fans of Jack White really, as it is far enough away from the original in terms of sonic quality to avoid comparison. You should particularly listen out for the acoustic guitar though, which is produced to perfection.
