No chance of a joint headline tour then? // CC // Music54 |
If you read Rolling Stone, you will probably have seen Patrick Carney's (drummer of The Black Keys) comments about Nickelback.
In fact, even if you don't read the magazine, the quote became rather popular on social networks within a matter of hours:
"Rock & roll is dying because people became OK with Nickelback being the biggest band in the world."
This could be one of those quotes you see emblazoned on the front of a t-shirt in a few years time, but at the moment it seems that Nickelback are... well let's just say 'dousing' the flames of Carney's fire.
The band responded by thanking Carney for calling them "...the biggest band in the world". Here is the exact quote from their Twitter page:
"Thanks to the drummer in the Black Keys [for] calling us the Biggest Band in the World in Rolling Stone. Hehe."
This could be the start of a beautiful rock and roll flame war, here's to hoping!
