Lots of consumer audio products at this show alongside the rows and rows of headphones and Tv's. Yamaha were showing the Yamaha PDX11 a brand new portable speaker with a iPod Dock which can be powered via mains or battery - something for the garden,  assuming the weather in the UK ever lets you go outside for more than a couple of minutes before it rains.

(£99)

But if you are staying inside and watching the TV, there's a useful product that fill the void left by these ever thinning LCD and LED Tvs which have insubstantial built-in speakers. If like me you don't want to hookup a separate stereo or 5.1 system - my house it just too small and has the wrong layout, then a sound bar could prove the ideal solution. the Yamaha YSP2200 soundbar. Available as a super duper 5.1 emulating sytem with 16 tiny speakers on board,  at a hefty £800+ or the smaller YAS101 2.1 system which would set you back a more reasonable £220 or so.

Might even work out for checking mixes on if you need a reason to spend the $$$.
