The Pa600 is the newest keyboard in the Korg Pa Series of professional arrangers. They tell us that it comes equipped with a vast, up-to-date collection of high-quality sounds and styles, many of which have been distilled from Korg's flagship Pa3X. Also offered is an option to include custom sound and performance sets (sold separately) from many countries around the world. For easy sound selection, the Pa600 features a color TouchView display--a first in its price range. The Pa600QT (featuring Quarter Tone button variations) is also available.
Over 950 sounds (including stereo piano and GM2 sounds), plus 64 drum kits are included in the Pa600, while the Pa600QT provides Middle Eastern PCM with matching Persian, Arabic and Turkish sound programs and styles, preloaded as demo versions.
Korg says that, covering an expanded range of musical genres, the Pa600 provides styles for almost every occasion. Over 360 deluxe styles have been programmed by some of the leading sound designers in the world, bringing unparalleled realism and detail to the Pa600.
Korg's unique SongBook feature is a musical database that's completely user programmable, containing all the settings needed to play a particular song. Simply search for the title of a song, select it and hit "Play." The SongBook provides on-the-fly, searchable access to styles, MIDI files, or MP3s, and can immediately recall settings such as Song Title, Genre, Artist, Tempo, Volumes, Sounds, Muted Tracks, FX settings, Easy Edit, Single Touch Settings, Master Transpose and more.
Both versions of the Pa600 are equipped with four Stereo Master Effect processors, with 125 effect types such as reverb, delay, chorus, REMS guitar-based effects for authentic guitar tones, and much more. Each track features EQ with Low, Mid and High controls, providing users with a plethora of fine-tuning options.
Korh tells us that both units feature an elegantly designed and compact cabinet that includes a pristine-sounding amplification system. About Arranger Keyboards:Arranger keyboards are similar to traditional workstations with sounds, effects, sequencing and drums, all combined in a single instrument. Designed primarily for the live performer or songwriter, the Korg series of Professional Arrangers add extra articulation for recreating convincing instrumental performances, and a number of ready-to-use Styles, allowing any song to be played with a full arrangement on the fly, with no pre-programming required.
