In a new video released in promotion of the upcoming Sound City Movie, Foo Fighters guitarist Pat Smear has revealed that he was not allowed to listen to rock music when he was going up.

His first experience of rock and roll was listening to three albums his parents eventually purchased for his sister, which were Sgt Peppers, Abbey Road, and a George Harrison solo album.

The Sound City Movie is directed by Dave Grohl and tells the story of the legendary recording studio used by Nirvana, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Rage Against The Machine.
