Winter NAMM 2013 - iConnectivity:

This is the first solution I've seen to the problem of taking apps running on your iPad/iPhone and bringing them into the DAW without having to get an audio interface involved. These two new iConnectivity units as well as providing plenty of MIDI IO options also offer Audio Pass Through - iConect MIDI 4+ features four MIDI io, 4 USB host inputs - for controllers or iOS devices, plus MIDI over USB and RTP ethernet MIDI  - plenty of options $249

iConnnect MIDI 2+ has 2 MIDI ports, two USB connections for iOS devices etc.

Both of these offer audio pass through and will show up as an audio device with full digital audio into the host computer. You can put these together as an aggregate device under OS X to bring it all together into your studio system. Nice.
