There has been a lot made recently in the press of Lemmy's poor health, the Motorhead singer had to cut short a show at the Waken Open Air Festival, and concern has been growing among fans.
But another legendary rocker says that fans have nothing to worry about, and that Lemmy is in the studio completing Motorhead's new record, Aftershock.
Slash paid Lemmy a visit, and says he's doing just fine:
"[I] visited Lemmy today; he's doing well. There's been a lot of rumors. But he's in good shape, and finishing [the] Motörhead record now."
Apparently, Motorhead's shortened set was not a case of Lemmy falling ill, but rather a case of Lemmy biting off more than he could chew and coming back to work too soon after having his defibrillator fitted.
A statement on Motorhead's website reads:
"The show had to go on because that's how Lemmy rolls. Even though he was not 100 percent fit, he refused to feel he was letting the 85,000 Wacken fans down.
"They kicked ass in the 100+degree heat for a shortened, but powerful, set before, Lemmy finally realized he might have bitten off a little more than he could chew. Thus he will embark upon the recuperation recommended. We know that rumors are flying around, but once he fully recharges, Motorhead will be back, don't you worry."
