Gibson Government Guitars

After Gibson's run-in with the US government over the use of imported woods, the company has introduced the Government Series guitars that use woods confiscated by the US government that were returned to Gibson once there was a resolution and the investigation ended.

The guitars are dressed in a distinctive vintage-gloss Government Tan finish, complemented by black-chrome hardware, black plastics, and a pickguard hot-stamped in gold with the Government Series II graphic--a bald eagle hoisting a confiscated Gibson guitar neck.

Features:

  • Solid mahogany body  (with a carved maple top on the Les Paul)
  • Mahogany neck
  • Rosewood fingerboard
  • Pair of Dirty Fingers+ humbucking pickups in the neck and bridge positions
  • Black Chrome Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece
  • Black Chrome Grover™ tuners with 14:1 ratio

Pricing and Availability:

Government Series II SG: from $999
Government Series II Flying V: from $999
