Here's the press relase we just got from the Bob Moog Foundation:

The Bob Moog Foundation and Prestige Subaru of Asheville are celebrating their shared passion for encouraging the creative spirit in children through a raffle to benefit the Foundation's hallmark educational project, Dr. Bob's SoundSchool.

Beginning April 7, 2014 through June 9, 2014, the Foundation will be selling tickets to win a 2014 Subaru Outback station wagon or a 2014 BRZ Coupe (valued at $23,500 and $25,500 respectively). Tickets are $50 and can be purchased through the Bob Moog Foundation's online store.

Dr. Bob's SoundSchool (DBSS) is a 10-week STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) curriculum developed by the Foundation for the purpose of teaching children the science of sound through the magic of music. DBSS is currently serving 1,000 second grade students in 55 classrooms throughout Western North Carolina in the Asheville City Schools, Buncombe County Schools and Madison County Schools. The Foundation aims to expand DBSS into additional counties in Western North Carolina and beyond in the coming year. The funding raised from the raffle will be used for that expansion.

Michelle Begnino, Assistant Curriculum Director for Madison County Schools, reflects on efficacy of DBSS into the rural district "We are so pleased with the experience our children and teachers had working with Dr. Bob's Sound School. Our children radiate when talking about the DBSS lessons. As we focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) throughout our district, this curriculum gives teachers the chance to implement lessons that have the rigor and the support to be successful! We have tremendously bright children in our system of high poverty and DBSS gives our children wonderful, hands-on learning opportunities and a chance to shine."

"We're proud to be able to support the Bob Moog Foundation's educational initiative, Dr. Bob's SoundSchool," added Prestige Subaru's Tony Pelle. "Their efforts in encouraging technology and the arts have already made a tremendous difference in these students' lives, and we'd love to see more children benefit from programs like these."

Prestige Subaru is Asheville's premier Subaru dealership, priding themselves on exceptional cars and unparalleled customer service. Their thriving business has provided philanthropic funding throughout the region for many years and has benefitted organizations such as the Asheville Humane Society, American Cancer Society, Veterans Helping Veterans, and many more.

Raffle ticket purchasers are encouraged to read the rules and regulations that govern the raffle. Those can be found here.
