What Has Gibson Done To The Les Paul?

Gibson has announced the Les Paul Supreme, which they describe as the ultimate guitar for the ultimate connoisseur. It's certainly different with its gold plating, bound F-holes, pearl crown inlays and a combination of a floating humbucker and a 492T pickup, but has Gibson gone too far with the bling?
