Walk in to any high-end studio back in the day, and you'd likely find a Pultec EQ or two... they were the 'go-to' units for adding that certain something to a track, often used to get a nice sheen on vocals.

Trouble is they were uber-pricey, and not many regular mortals could afford them.

So when I walked past the Warm Audio stand and saw what looked like a vintage Pultec, I had a quick look - and was told it was a pretty faithful reproduction of the original; but the thing that surprised me was the price.

Bryce Young explains more about the 'Warm Audio Program Equalizer EQP-WA Tube EQ', to give it its full moniker.
