John Price from Kenton Electronics was one of the first pioneering MIDI harware utilities makers. Starting out with retrofit MIDI mods for classic synthesizers - to allow them to work with MIDI, then his MIDI to CV standalone boxes (Pro Solo, Pro2)  that were for quite some time one of the only ways to integrate CV control from MIDI sequencers.

He's still creating useful MIDI and CV hardware, and shows us what his new stuff is in the pipeline.
