Modal Electronics 001 is the duophonic sibling of the 002 - the 12 voice hybrid - with digital NCOs and analog ladder filter and VCA.

Its designed very much in the same livery as the 002, but with a smaller, more affordable form factor. Three octave aftertouch enabled keyboard, true two voice operation (two part multi-timbral) as well as four channels of CV or gate (in and out).

We had a visit from Paul Maddox and Luca Mucci, the synths designer and product specialist respectively from just down the road in Bristol. This video focusses on the features, if you want to hear more sounds - we shot a patch demo while we have the synth briefly which you can see below:
