Gregory Scott from House of Kush has a fantastic youtube channel for all kinds of production techniques and ideas. His latest video provides some mixing exercises to try, in order to get out of patterns which we inevitably fall into from time to time. He covers mono mixes with comparable stereo reverbs and experimenting with panning through constraints - resulting in something he refers to as "phase dancing" which sounds brilliant.
Gregory offers some nice techniques for new perspectives; adding a sense of exploration and experimentation to processes which we may have settled into. There are lots of videos to dig into which apply to all forms of music on his youtube channel: www.youtube.com/channel/UC0tK9G9GMeWQzJJsVjBrEhQ
