Vitalic (aka DIMA) is a name synonymous with Electro and Techno, who has managed to achieve and maintain underground status while still making hugely popular music. In this interview with Telekom Beats, he shares some of his thoughts and ideas behind making music from his Parisian studio.
He discusses how he uses the likes of the Hydrasynth, Buchla Easel, Sequential Pro-3, and the frankly gorgeous Italian GRP A4 in his music, which he sequences on Ableton Live. As well as releasing 5 studio albums (his last one was released in December 2021) he's also known for remixing. Here are a couple of his stand out remixes:
The Hacker - Fadin' Away (Dima Remix)
SLAM feat Dot Allison - Visions (Vitalic remix):
He also spoke to DJ mag back in 2017:
His album Dissidence was released late last year: https://www.vitalic.org/news.html#dissidaence
Vitalic is also the founder of Citizen Records: https://www.citizen-records.com/
