Eliana D'Angelo returns for some expert advice on music production, this time in the form of some liquid drum and bass! In the video she goes over the drum production in detail, starting out with the kick and snare sample layering, and going onto the other essential elements and articulations. Her production tutorials are thorough and clear, with very down to earth descriptions to boot. In her words...
In this video I cover the process of writing and producing liquid drum and bass drums. We start out with kick and snare sample layering and then move on to writing hi-hats and understanding the various articulations we can use for more expressiveness. I also cover the concept of layering live drums over our one shot based pattern to give it a more organic feel.
Then we move on to mixing and processing our drums using various techniques. One of which is using clipping and limiting to reach competitive loudness levels and also using transformer / tape saturation to add nuance to our drums, then use buss compression and finally limiting to really flesh out the drums.
We're looking forward to part 2! More videos from Eliana here: www.youtube.com/@ElianaDAngelo
