Now the entire world is taking to Podcasting, it's no surprise that more products are coming up to cater for the amateur (or pro) broadcaster. The new RØDE Podcaster certainly looks the part and features an integrated USB connection for direct interfacing to the computer. The Podcaster comes with a 5m USB cable, and is specifically tailored for the voice - there's a passing nod to the classic radio show mic the ElectrVoice RE-20 and plenty of inspiration from Rode's own Broadcaster mic, already in use in many radio stations the world over. The Podcaster offers an end address configuration (you point it at your mouth), an ON LED and very low self noise. Control software is downloadable from the RØDE website. Optional extras include a shock mounting system and an Anglepoise style table mount arm.
