Great, really. The SK88 Pro was designed as a MIDI input keyboard with a sound engine. However, I just use it as it is. I take it out as part of my live rig. I can set 2 different sounds using 'Double Module Mode'; one for the keyboard itself, and one on the 'second' module which can be played using a different keyboard MIDI'd into the SK88. All sounds can be effected, with the keyboard's built in effects, which are all quite useable. The only critisism would be that you can only get the basic sounds (all 1,117 of them!) on the 'B' module in Double mode; you can't put the user sounds on there... they are only on module 'A'. Comments About the Sounds: There's a good variety of sounds here, although this is GM/GS based. These sounds can be edited with the SK88 Pro's synthy editing thingy... |
