First off, I apologize for the "1"s on the review: My browser wouldn't let me change them.

The Wave 2.V is a spot-on perfect reproduction of a PPG Wave 2.3, with more polyphony, less noise, and less time in the repair shops. This truly shows the promise of VST instruments, like the ProFive. It's very "easy" on the CPU, with a ridiculous amount of polyphony/multitimbralism available on a G4 (I couldn't get the CPU usage above 25%, even with 16 parts!)

This is not a Do-Everything plug, it sounds like a PPG, and that's that - though the PPG is capable of a wide range of sounds! It's very easy to program and tweak, and adds a distinctive "edge" to your sound.

For a refresher course on the PPG sound, check out the MP3 demo at www.waldorf-gmbh.de

Highly recommended, if PPG is your thing!

Comments About the Sounds:
True PPG sound. Scanning through the factory patches will take you right back to 1984. Excellent at digi-bells, and digital "sweeps".

(Thanks to Jim B-Reay for this info.)
