i used my 1212 for a long time on a 9600/200 originally feeding korgs own 880d/a, then an 02r. rock solid with no sync or audio related problems...

a highly recommended second-hand audio card...

There is no such thing as a blue and white G4 for the record, and I have been using a korg 1212 on my beige g3 which is upgraded to a 500mhz for over a year with no problems. I use it with digital performer 2.7. I know cubase and cakewalk have lots of problems with them, but I do not think it is the card, the programs just love to crash period. I don't know how well they work on the pc, but on the mac it has been great. I wish Korg would open source the drivers so I could port it for OSX.

I don't like it. I've had it for over a year now, but experienced a lot of problems; lock-ups, bad timings and latencies etc. I think most of the problems are caused by the poor driver implementation. Ps. i've tried it on win95, win98, win98se, winMe on different pc's, with Logic, Cubase and Cakewalk so i KNOW it's not my fault ;)

There's problems getting the 1212 to work with the bluenwhite G3, much less the G4. So I'd think twice before trying to use it on a G4. I have a b/w G3, and I had a hell of a time getting it to work. But if you write to Korg, I believe there is an extension you can use as a workaround. It does something odd to your startup, I think it sets up a custom startup. So if you do get this workaround, it might be a good idea to make a separate extension set for when you're not doing audio, and boot up in that. That's what I do when I do video, graphics, etc. The workaround works, but I'm not 100% convinced of its reliability/crashiness.

this card is very simple and reliable for me and my friends who have one. pretty damn affordable as well. if you are looking for a soundcard, and a soundcard only, than this is your pick...
