I once owned a NT2, but found it to harsh on the top. This was a real problem on female vocals. It distorted from time to time on medium-loud sources and the NT2 was even very sensitive for RF signals. When I tried out the cheaper ADK A-51S, I found that the ADK sounded a lot like the NT2 but without all these side effect. The top was present but more pleasant, it even worked on femail voices. So I sold the NT2 and bought me couple of ADK´s for the same price...!

Good, dependable 'all-around' capacitor microphone. Could easily be remembered in the history books as 'the blue-collar U87a'. Shock mount is simple, and does the job. I'm very happy with the purchase, and plan on trying out other R0DE models, also. Thanks.

I bought the rode 2 because of it being omni as well as cardiod. It's very quiet and really suits my voice, more so than a later purchase of a rode ntV which sounds kinda "dark". Having the omni option gives you more choices and makes for a nice acoustic guitar sound, if the room sounds okay. I'd like another for stereo work.
