Despite its simple architecture, it is very professional-sounding due to its super fast envelope modulation and very cool filters. It's a little pricey for a little synth, methinks. But it is one of a few best and overlooked softsynths ever written.

For a software synth, the Electron is nice enough. The controls are versatile, track-automatable, and actually change the overall timbre of the sound (the latter is something that most soft-synth controls don't let you do). It nothing like NI's Reaktor, of course, but you can run one (more than one, you can run 5-10 depending on cpu) without eating up your cpu.
