Been using it for four years and have managed some very basic recordings. What I need is a guide to the outputs: I can only get monitor sound at the moment so the whole thing stays analog. Ideally, with my fading eyes, I'dlike toput this through a PC, but how can I do that?

I've have a Tascam 788 for years no complaints for the $. I'm almost finished with an allbum worth of material however I'm running out of space? Which is the preferred method of gaining external memory? Zip drives 100,250 750? Hard drive? Does Tascam offer anything? I've searched accessories. nothing... I need memory /////// & storage.

Got Manual?
from U.S. writes:
I just got the Tascam 788 from a buddy of mine and he couldn't find the manual. We both work alot so it is hard for me to sit down and rack my head trying to figure it out without directions. I have already tried learning this without the manual a couple times and no sucess. This is the first time I myself have ever tried to record anything digital before. Can anybody help, if so my questions are below;
So far with the 2, or more hours spent I have managed to only get the guitar through my headphones (Impressive arn't I). I haven't figured out how to use any of the guitar effects. Any help?
Also, I would like to learn how to set up a song track, record it, cut n' paste and lay other instruments down on the track.
If anybody can help, maybe tell me a site I can check out, or anything before I have to buy it, that would be awesome.

I use to own a Zoom Mrs-4 and it took me roughly 1 solid year to learn it inside and out. It is and was a complicated piece of merchandise. But this 788 is a wonder! It is so user friendly and easy to figure out. I have had it only a week and feel as though I've known it all my life! I hate that it does not have phantom power, and removeable media, but 2 hours is more than adequate average of music storage! Nothing in this life is perfect, but this sure comes pretty damn close!!! I give it a 9.5!!!!
