A great machine. Just think what a studio would have cost some years back with everything this machine has. My demos are coming out great. My clients are very happy with their demos and thats all that counts. It is extremely portable. And I have recorded with it outside my studio with great results. A good condensor mic is important along with a pop screen filter. It doesnt need a condensor if set correctly with the post and pre faders. Very easy to replace the hard drive an cd burner. A SCSI out is a great feature. 1 gb Jaz backsup alot of songs.

Hello everybody, I bettr begin by saying that i think the D1600 is a great machine, very intuitive and easy to use. it has enough ins and outs that you can actuall get pretty creative with how you engineer. My problem is thus: The Cds only burn about half the time and i get an error message. it works sometimes if i power down and re install the drive but sometimes this doesnt work. I noticed a few disclaimers in the manual saying that you ought to remove BOTH THE HARD DRIVE AND THE CDR/RW DRIVE IF YOU MOVE THE D1600. what is with that? kind of kills the whole "portability" and "convenience" aspect of using a "portable" workstation! I am so frustrated i am about to drop the thing in the Cubmberland river. any advice?

this machine is easy to use and the manual is helpful. But the service blows. I've had the d1600 for 2 years now, and it doesn't start up at all anymore. I tried sending it to korg, but they don't service their own equiptment.

I tried several local music stores and 2 other servicing places that kept my unit for about 4 months total, then finally sent it back saying they couldn't fix it. But i am going to refrain from using the names of these companies, because I would like to protect the identity of BBM in New York City.

So basically what I'm saying is if you get the d1600, and it doesn't break, it's awesome. And if it breaks... then i guess you just got raped.
