The Lexicon desktop recording studio is new to the market. It seems to be a very well suited device for digital recording, USB 2.0 is the carrier passage the the desktop. I wonder however does anyone know if it will function as intended on a laptop. I see that most laptops come with 4200rpm Hard drives and on the requirements listed on the product box it states that a 7200 rpm drive is required..

I'm running Mbox through a Sony Vaio 2.4 Ghz with 512 mb ram. I've used this set-up to record live performances plus in my basement studio to record acoustic drums with recorded midi tracks. In my view and use, it is an awesome system and have had 0 problems. I've had it for almost a year and record with it at least 4 times a month. I see no need to move up with the quality of work I'm getting done now. I use two Shure SM81's and careful placement for live recording and for the studio I use a Yamaha 01v to sub-mix the acoustic drums. Awesome.

Yup, that setup will handle the MBox just fine. Just play around with the configurations until it acts well with your system without any problems. Good luck.
