Lars Baumstark a hobbyist user from Germany writes:
Decades ago at the age of 10 I used to fool around with my elder brother´s Minimoog. Now this nostalgic feeling is recreated by ACE MIDI, and it´s on my favourite system: The Atari! This might become one of the main reasons to keep this machine alive for the next years... Thanks, New Beat, for the great 040 compatibility (68040 afterburner at 36MHz, DSP at 50MHz, FastRAM). PS: The reverb is a bit strange, but one can do nice "grumbling" and thunder sounds when you turn off the original sound and turn reverb to 100%, combined with noise/filter settings...

Tim Conrardy a hobbyist user from USA writes:
ACE MIDI brings a state of the art soft synth to the Atari platform thus extending one of the main reasons Atari was made for: making music. The filter and step modulator and the different synthisis methods are what makes this synth stand out from the rest. A welcome addition to a growing number of excellent Atari-MIDI software that is now available.

Great stuff. I get 16 voices + effects@ 50Khz on my CT2 falcon.

I was actually concidering eating toothpaste so I could stay home from work just to fool around with Ace :)

Up's: No latency, many mixmodes. Warm analog filter. Down's: hmm... reverb is a bit dull, but the delay works fine.

Thomas a hobbyist user from Germany writes:
ACE is quite outstanding. It is intuitive and has the most impressive sound. Given some publicity in magazines like "Keyboards" it could be "the" next big thing - a "must have" like the TR 909. If you ever buy a musical application for your Falcon, let it be ACE!

Game Over a hobbyist user from Germany writes:
This synth is quite outstanding. It simply beats the sh** out of any VST-module. I do all my sampling and most of the bass with ACE MIDI. But it does not "only" 48 KHz, but also the Falcon-50 KHz samplerate. Get one.
