No problems for 4 years. Then one day the harddrive simply stopped working. I lost eveything. Yes i should have backed up. But it failed without any warning signs.
THINK VERY CAREFULLY ABOUT BUYING THIS RECORDER. YOU MAY LOSE ALL YOUR RAW DATA.

The BR-1180 has been good to me. I've had a lot of fun using it. I recommend purchasing the digital studio if you like good sound and effects. The discrete drum cd has a lot of good loop effects. Thanks Boss.

so far so good with the BR1180. I've had it since it came out. No hard drive problems..yet, except that I've filled it, and now I have to erase old songs. i still want to learn how to use MIDI with it. But I've recorded at a few studios and I prefer the sound quality of what I've got from this unit.

I have not had any trouble with the BR-1180. I have owned it for about 3 years and have enjoyed using it. It is a bit difficult to learn but there is a lot of ways to make it sound good. I am looking for additional harddrives for the unit. Boss mentions nothing in the Owner's Manual about hooking up additional hardrives.
