Very good monitor in the sub $1K price range.

Slight boost in the 5-8K band but thats fairly acceptable. Very detailed highs and mids and the low end is fairly distortion free although doesnt go quite as low as more expensive models.

Compared them to Alesis M1s, Tannoy 5As, Yamaha MSP5s and the Tannoys came out on top. They didnt attempt to colour the sound as much as the other ones which is exactly what I was looking for.

Highly recommended.

I needed powered monitors that gave a crystal clear sound for nearfield use. I also have a very tight budget.

They were at the lower end of the price range compared to the competition. The sound is impeccable and the build quality is excellent. And they look good.

Nearly Mackie quality at an entry-level price.

I bought them 2 days ago and I must say I love them. From price/performance point of view they are winners. Beatifull design. They produce nice mids, pretty detail highs and solid bass (but first you must move switch in the back to add some). Also, I must add that they're very heavy for such a small monitors.

Since I'm in the radio commercial music and voiceover bussiness, for me there is no doubt that Tapcos will serve me more than well.

All in all, if you have a bedroom/home studio and not much space, Tapco S5 is a logical choice considering price, quality of sound, size, and last but not list, design.
