The Akai response to the sherman filterbank, this is being marketed by akai as the perfect companion to the MPC2000xl. But having no MPC i can't comment on that. However, i've sent synths, guitars and percussion though the filters and believe me this unit can really twist things up. On board lfo (4 waveforms) and an envelope generator also help to mess things up even further. The filters are selectable in 2, 4 and 8 pole, with high pass, band pass, notch and low pass filters available.

Good Points Big Fat Filter knobs to twist till your hearts content. All controls midi'able. Nice simple interface. Warm analogue feel. Input for a deck for DJ performance. Bad Points Could've included more FX for further madness, such as flangers and delays, but for 300 quid what do you expect? |
