Simple minidisc format recorder sort of like the old cassette format. Really easy to use,you get about 18 minutes on a disc @ 8 tracks. It will transmit midi clock or MTC so you can sync external devices though it will not be the master.

You can also perform simple cut and paste editing though I don't have any experience of it.

We've been using it to put backing tracks for live work. Not sure how robust they are but it sure beats lugging adats around.

Good Points
Simple to operate, straight forward. No loss track bouncing
Bad Points
Not too sure if the MD format is very reliable. Won't sync as slave, no digital interfacing.
