Pros: - The best sounding analog synth I've ever heard (for comparison I own all the Jupiters and some VA's). It's clear and crisp yet raw and very powerful. Even with the filter down it doesn't sound muffled or dull. - The stereo LP/LP filter simply rocks! - Sturdy build quality with huge pots and back-lit controls. - Simple and easy to use (some of the deeper OS menu may be hard to find). - Everything is controlled by MIDI and CV. - It's cheaper than the keyboard versions. - It's prettier than the keyboard versions (IMO - I don't like the all-wood casing, it's too old fashioned, and not in the cool retro way). Cons: - It's quite expensive (still good value for money though, IMO). - It's monophonic. - The display is not top quality though it serves its purpose. - The back-lighting of the controls makes a audible noise (you can dim the lights though). - Most of the advanced controller and modulation features are burried a little too deep in the OS menus. Comments About the Sounds: This is the definition of true analog sound. This is what all the virtual analogs and plug-ins are trying to imitiate. |
