I owned the EM-25 before this, and that keyboard started to annoy me more and more. It seems that Roland realized they made some design-mistakes with that model, and came up with this new EXR-5. All the things I liked about my older Rolands were back again: Pitchbender, analog volumeknob, two headphone sockets in the front, two (L/Mono - Right) jack-outputs, large Flashmemory for user styles and songs (easy to manage using the USB connection to your PC, it will appear there as an extra drive) The drums are fantastic. Any kind of music is possible with these kits. It also features a "KICKS SNARES" kit with tons of different bass-beats and snares. If you can't find it there, you're on the wrong planet! The EXR-5 and EXR-3 are almost similar: The EXR-3 does not have the diskdrive, and the EXR-5 has bass-reflex speakers, the EXR-3 doesn't. I could go on and on talking about the sounds, the ease of use, the design-improvements, but you may just have to go look for yourself. You won't regret it! Comments About the Sounds: Piano sounds used are from Roland's RD-series. Absolutely wonderful. Great Rhodes too, in several variations. Well, in short, Roland really created a great new model, the best sounding Roland I've come across so far, and all this at a price you would not expect. |
