Despite its questionable colour scheme (some people really didnt like the Green). The System-8 is a decent synth. Uses the ACB (Analog Circuit Behaviour) that many think is one of the best iterations of Roland's DSP tech, and had plenty of DSP compared to some of the later ZenCore instruments.

The Plug-out concept allows you to buy extra add-on DSP code blocks that turn it into a JP-4 a Promars and others, though I dont think they

However, the System-8 is pretty capable instrument in its own right. There are some very interesting filter types, although only one LFO feels a bit stingy.

Shame it doesnt have an aftertouch enabled keybed too as it would greatly enhance the playability.
