Easy to use - even without user manual (how come all these classic Simmons units often miss those... stupid drummers???). 1 unit high though filled with knobs to tweak effect, external sounds, sensitivity etc. I use mine together with a SDS-V and it does the job perfectly! Originally it was supposed to go together with the SDS-9 and the ins are even marked as SDS-9 ins... Some people call the MTX-9 a "lattin expander" because of some of the sounds but it can certainly be used in other kinds of music too!

Comments About the Sounds:
Sampled waveforms in classic Simmons vein! Not analogue, but certainly useful and sometimes even wicked!

(Thanks to Jesper Ödemark for this info.)
