Hello. Great machine is the S1000. (I was before a S900 and 950 user...) Only the blacklite is a problem, so since i found the solution in your site, i still take pleasure working with this great sounding sampler... Just one thing : Does anyone know a program, compatible with XP to transform WAV to AKAI S1000 format? I've tried the program WAV AKAI, but the floppy never recognize the AKAI format floppy disk,(being formated by himself to the AKAI format!) Sorry for my bad English. Thank's for someone's report. Great sampler, which suits my "keep it simple stupid" attitude very well. Everyone should have one :) ! Just make sure that floppy drive works, replacement drives may be quite hard to find.

If you looked up the word "Sampler" in the dictionary, there *should* be a picture of the Akai S1000.

The Akai S1000 is the Coca-Cola, the Levi's, the Jesus of samplers. Sure it's old, but timeless. The S1000 is still great today, and as long as they all still work, they will be great forever. Simple, breathtaking and loving.

People go on about how some day they will be outdated. Well, I really don't think they will. You don't need that much memory, or effects. Just think about how cool it seems to be these days to have an S950!

I love the Akai S1000. It's an amazing, tangible, simple machine for anyone who loves to sample.

The S1000 is stable as a rock. Thanks gandia for the info on the LCD screen. I made the mistake of purchasing my unit without an internal hard drive. Would love to install one now but can't locate one. Does anyone out there know of retrofit kits or dealers. Thanks!

look man i av ad the s1000 for 5 years i recentlly got hold of anouther s1000hd and transfered thr scsi and didgal cards in to me s1000 it worked cool for a bit and now it wont save to the scsi it will formate a disc but not save any samples to scsi disc its driving me mad please help i am supposed to play a liveset this weekend for us we are a underground sound system called SOUND CONSPIRACY you can see where we are at on www.soundconspiracy.freetekno.org you can see pitures of drive overland to india with a 150000 k sound system music message and lights please -----help------ 4q kontact yo4qmate@hotmail.com PEACE PLEASE 23
