Ignore the review - this synth has ANALOGUE filters, which give it a great sound. I disagree with the review again because I think that the bass sounds are very lacking in bottom end.

It doesn't do portamento/glide though which counts against it in the acid-box stakes (though being able to mod the picth by envelope helps a lot).
I agree that it's a PIG to program. Oh yeah & there's no bank select via MIDI,
so you can't really use a sequencer to select sounds outside the current bank.
I got mine fixed by Cheetah when it died the first time. One of the oscillators one one of the voices has gone now though, and Cheetah is no more...
(NB you can stack 6 voices on one MIDI channel to make a V.fat monosynth)

Major complaints are that it's bitch to edit, and it only has a single mono out (but you could probably add indiv. outs). ..Great synth for the price

Not the fsttest sounding synth and a bit of a pain to program but for the cash it's fab!
You might notice that the SH price hasn't changed for 3-4yrs.
The cool thing is (as I rememmber) that you have a 2nd env for filter and quite unusually, pitch.
One of the big drawbacks is the poor sysex implementation:
you can't use aan editor to edit you can only dump whole banks of
memory.....
Overall a goodd 3.5 - ok 4
