I loved this Synth, I too paid thirty pounds for mine - but alas I sold it (for 90 pounds) but I now wish that I hadn't - the samples I have do not represent this synth at all well - still, you learn by your mistakes, if I see another one I will buy it. Most excellent string sound's - far superior to the old Moog Opus 3 we had!
A great synth if you can find one.

This monolith of a polysynth has had quite a lot of bad press due to the delicate nature of it's internal organs (no pun!) - however it's got a great sound. I picked mine up for 30 pounds about 8 years ago at a boot fair and although it's a monster, I can't part with it! The best pads and sweeps ever - no-one will ever know where you got them from! Open it up - under the string ensemble pots are the pots to reset the 'presets' - tweak away! Next, those 6 boards set horizontally under ocillator glide? - you can spend ages retuning there. Each board controls 2 semitones across the octave - take care! The string machine is great (very 80's New Order/John Foxx) and check out that occillator glide! - Its a beast, so if it's cheap, just get it, or borrow it then sample it - lots!
