I've just bought a DW6000 for £95. What a bargain. I've programmed my analogue synths for years and this synth has the same knid of 'warmth' as those, plus it's polythonic. The value slider to my ears does not 'step' through numbers like on synths. Here is a tip for anyonethinkingof buying this heavy baby: Filter sweeps can be programmed by setting a bend range (no71) to zero. Then set the bend vcf (no72) to on. Then use the pitchbend to control the filter. You can then programme itfrom your computer of master keyboard. Also you can use the dedicated value slider for something else eg. resonance! Does anybody know the sys ex code/identifier? Can a DW8000 editor be modified to work on the DW6000?

I never had any complaints about the 6000, of course it was outdated 15 minutes after I got it home in 86. I've begun getting interested in using the keyboard again with my other dinosaur, my Sequencial Circuit Six Track to beging some hobbiw recording on my computer. I'm just having a compatability problem with my sound card. If you have have the same problem, drop me a line. I really want to get this figured out.

The waveform's crap, but the filter is quite nice. The one I had I modded with a filterinput and another good mod would have been to replace the wave-forms in the ROMs with something useful such as tri, squ and saw. Keyboard's crap too, absolute crap!

This synth is pretty cool. The filter sounds good and the two ADSRs are nice. With the osc detune, unison mode, and the chorus you can get really fat sounds out of the DW.

The various osc waveforms are what gives this synth its character. Try each waveform at both ends of the keyboard, with the filter opened and closed, with res high or low, and you'll find many cool sounds. There are tons of cool sounds that the DW can make, but you have to really work to find them.
