Have owned my Series III (Rev 6.03)since 1989 Fairlight bancrupty auction. It's been brilliant, easy to operate, the best sampler, where else can you sample edit and flyin your samples so easily as the music plays. Have done much commisioned tv, corporate, cd rom work as well as my own cd album with it, but alas due to servicing difficulties (particularly hard drives)I must now part with it. If any body interested in purchasing a heap of spares from music keyboard through to output cards please contact me. Also huge streamer library and manuals etc.

Fire up a Series III in a good studio and you won't be dissapointed! If you want to buy a Series III without the worry of hardware and software upgrades, try to get hold of an MFX2 Rev 11 machine. These machines are essentially Series IIIs with extra software and an edit controller. All Series III software is still fully functional on the same unit. This will cost a lot more, but you will get newer rack-mounted hardware - some built as recently as '92. Later units have upgraded sample and hold on the output cards.

The BEST Sampler/Workstation in the World! Even after all these years and advances in the technology, no other sampler/workstation can touch it (btw: how many of the modern samplers/synths have 12 CPUs??) It's also a joy to work with - not having to mess around with Windows or MAC OS. I'll never sell mine. The only other sampler workstation that comes close is a NED Synclavier....

My Fairlight III is the centerpiece of my studio and music creation. The sequencer is fantastic (and so easy to use, unlike those today hyped-up PC/MAC sequencers). Both Page R (RS) and CAPS are excellent. And of course, the Fairlight sound quality of its sampler...aah! I only have a few other synths to complement the Fairlight...will have a website with my music coming soon...stay tuned!

I still think that Fairlight will go up in its value. It surely won't reach its original selling price, but the it will steadily increase since there are so few of them made. I love my Series III. It's the centerpiece of my studio and I do all composing, sequencing, sampling and sound creation on it. My music is always unique and very distinct from what's out there today. Will have MP3 soon so will post the details here. Stay tuned...
