This synth is the reason why people still use synths. Oscillator group selections are predetermined but dont fret. This is what synthesizers are supposed to sound like, modular almost in variety of routings for everything from filters to FX settings. The options in this synth are a wealth of choics that almost seem too much and you might get lost in the tweaking and find your self with a patch that sounds like a FM modulated Trombone with severe distorted character and green legs. Wave shaping and Feedback modulation are strange territory and will make you wonder if this synth is too capable of loosing you in a maze of modulations. Sometimes it is too deep, but by pushing these boundries you learn to stay afloat, hopefully. My only gripe is that the EGs are too esoteric and hard to quick edit for my taste. Other than that, one of the best synths EVER.

This synth is HEAVY. Its no wonder that it was the first analog modeling synth but it has features other synths cant even fathom. Reed oscillator, string oscillators, feedback and waveshaping, ever seen those on another synth? The oscillators types on this thing have raised the bar and kept it there. No additive features but you dont need it. The sound is so rich that its mono limitation is understandable. As for the cons the output jacks break easily and there are too many envelope features that you will get lost and editing them. Effects make the volume go down. Deep deep synth, almost like a modular. Wheel log bender is revolutionary. Why arent there more synths like this???????

This bitch is da bomb....I have had this little beast for just 1 month now, and the damn thing is amazing. This beats the crap out of those old now overpriced antique monosynths like the rouge and the Pro One. Progamablility and sounds on the fly you cant beat this with a big stick.....VA is just a better deal and what do the common know about Phatt......

The Prophecy is an awesome synth that can do anything from huge Moog sounds to delicate flute sounds with exceptional realism provided by incredible sound technology and multiple real time controllers on the synth. If you want screaming guitar from a synth, check out the Prophecy, if you like retro Moog & ARP, this baby won't dissapoint, as many reviewers have said before, it doesn't make a cheap imatations of the great synths of the 70's, it actually sounds exactly like them, except , with amazing real time control with 2 wheels, ribbon controller ( X / Y & Z ), plus 4 rotating knobs.

This synth can do almost ANYTHING that any other lead synth can do.

Remember, this is a lead synth, and plays just ONE note at a time, so as an all rounder, it aint gonna happen, but as a kick ass lead synth monster that blows everything else away ( it also has a soft side ) then this baby is the champ.

As if all that aint enough, this little box of genius lets you play woodwind & brass better than all but the best samplers, due to it's innovative dedicated sound generators & controllers. It needs a little practice, but the rewards are astonishing, this is realism that impresses.

Only one thing I can think of that stops this little keyboard from achieving perfection, and that is programming ( what can you expect from a synth with not one but FIVE sound engines ) It can be a tad difficult at times.

If you have a P.C. then buy a sound editor, the one I bought really unleashed the power of this mighty synth ( and provided lots of pre-programmed sounds ).

5/5 for this piece of kit, it won't dissapoint.!

Just to a 200km trip to get this synth.. On the way I listened to some beats I made with Roland Fantom X and the overall sound quality didn't loose a bit to some new american rap songs I had with me on a cd.. I've owned many synths and I've liked Fantom X the most.. Then I got home with this, the Korg Prophecy.. OMG!! This synth is just unbeleivable!!! Paid 400 euros for it.. Could've paid 1400 euros easily if I had known how good this is.. It's also much easier to use than what I've read. My mastering presets for Fantom X sounds made the Prophecy sound GOD-LIKE!! I actually bought this cause I could make a few euros profit by selling it to another person.. Guess am I keeping it?
