I use a Korg M1 through a Lexicon interface to Cubase recording program on my PC to record music. The sounds produced by the Korg can be edited on the Korg (reverb, etc.) but can the resultant effects be used in the sequence mode when sending the signal to the computer. The manual I have makes me wary of trying this because it warn that "editing programs and editing combinations can result in loss of sound data. I do have the sound data on the computer (that's how I restored the sounds after the Korg's battery went caput), but I need advice as to the wisdom of editing. I have other questions about my wonderful Korg but this would be great help for now. Thanks

From my humble experience, Korg m1 is great keyboard, but makes no sense to use it without it's original sound cards. When I first purchased it I din't have those cards, so when my internal baterry has discharged i lost all my sounds. That was crucial moment for me to start working with AI synthesis sound system, to create my own sounds. Altough, I used my M1 only for different piano sounds as well as electric organ sounds. I woud be happy if someone could recomand some modern keyboard on market that's good for those sounds that i have mentioned.

I've been owning one for almost 15 years now
It got placed apart for a while since 1 year ago I took it out again and started reprogramming it from scratch (it got reset on its own - the system memory battery was dead)
Well it's got great sound horizons if you don't stick on the classics (guitar, sax etc...).
The basic synth waves are very powerfull and with a bit of synth programming you can get freat results.
I really appreciate it now more than ever: it's not just a "band"-stage keyboard: it's a great synth to mess with too.
IT IS NOT AGED!!!
Cheers

It's a great instrument. Great sounds ! Vibes,Sax,Pads ( with own chorus ),Fretless it's real ! And M1 have most easy-to-programm sequencer ! Bad that it's impossible to make counts like 7/4 etc.& it's difficult to make swingin' rhythm. But I don't now other sequncers that allows to make music so simple & fast :)

I've had the Korg M1 since june 29,1991 up to this day it has never let me down. You can edit the sounds of the Korg M1 and make it sound like Roland D-20 or D-50 Keyboard like Van Halens Synth Brass in Jump, it's a total killer! lot's of powerfull sounds, you just need to unlock the power of this simple workstation. I also like the elec. piano 4 and the drums. great solo Sax too.
