I'm a professional recording studio musician whose toured with Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson, Earth, Wind & Fire, Elton John, etc. And, I discovered the Roland JD-800 by sheer accident, i.e., a member of Journey introduced it to me. Form that point on, I've been seriously attached to its inimatable sound quality, ease of use, keyboard's action, etc. Guys, if you seek an evolutionary keyboard with the most powerful control for its time ... think Roland JD-800.

I buy my JD 800 recently from a very famous producer/remixer Ben Liebrand. I use it now for remix works, i also used the Nordlead 3, but i thing this synth is better for use in Techno/trance productions see Ben Liebrand's Site: www.liebrand.nl

FOR A 10 YEARS OLD SYNTH I THINK THAT IT HOLDS THE LINE VERY NICE. GREAT PORTAMENTO AND IN SOLO MODE GREAT BASSLINES AND LEADS. EXCELLENT PADS FOR EVERY KIND OF MUSIC. MINE IS 8 YEARS OLD.THE ONLY BAD THING IS THAT YOU HAVE TO KEEP IT CLEAN AND IN A COOL ENVIRONMEMT.ARPEGIO WOULD BE A GIFT FROM HEAVEN.

This synth was a complete mystery to me!!! What a find! I'm not sure why this thing didn't do better in the market... Doesn't sound like your convential Roland Synth. And this has more buttons & sliders than you'll ever need. I found that this unit can replace a couple of my other units...easily. Zai
