First of all : The Q is Great !
About one year ago i bought the MicroQ .At first i loved it, but after a while the lack of real time control, due to the limited amount of knobs really started to get on my nerves ! That's why i bought the Q ......
The Keys on this synth , for a synth , are very good ( i think i heard somebody say their from FATAR). Now with around 50 knobs i can be much more creative , it's all so much easier !! For first time users a big amount of buttons and knobs always looks scarry on a synth , but after you start understanding how it all works ( oscillators , LFO's , Filters...),it's the lack of these that will give you goosebumps ..
So many users already reviewed this synth , and nearly all have positive things to say about it. There are a few things that could be improved:
- the effects : appart from the Chorus and the Delay which are quite ok , the Reverb , overdrive , phazer , etc are kind of lame !'(still, i nearly never use the effects of a synth, for that you need a seperate module..)
- The Filters : Theyre good , they are very good . But still , these aren't analog filters , and for anyone knowing how those sound .. All other filters are kind of boring . But hey , these filters have their use . When you make a sound , you can for example start off by polishing a sound digitally through the waldorf Q's filters and afterwards pass the obtained sound through a sherman filter bank .
Ok , Ok , there's so much to say .. So Much positive to say . Believe the good reviews and go buy yourself a waldorf MicroQ or Q ( MORE POWER~!!!!!) if you want to make that next real cool TECHNO/TRANCE/GOA/AMBIENCE/LOUNGE song.
An ideal part of your setup !
And no it's not ANALOG !!>>>> IT'S VIRTUAL ANALOG!! >>>>>>>>>>AND THAT IS PRETTY COOL AS WELLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!
